St. Joseph's Girls' Inter College
St. Joseph Girls' Inter College is run by the religious sisters of the Jesus and Mary Society. The institution was started in France by Saint Claudine Thévenet. In 1841, at the invitation of Bishop Borghi, the Bishop of Agra, she decided to come to India.
A group of six religious sisters left their beloved country, France, for India on 27 January 1842. After facing many difficulties and illnesses, they reached Agra on 11 November 1842.
They established two schools here. St. Joseph Girls' Inter College has the distinction of being the second of these schools. It was established in January 1843.
The aims and objectives of our school are the same as those of our founder, Saint Claudine Thévenet. According to Christian principles, the school aims to develop a strong character and a complete personality by cultivating essential moral values:
“We should provide these girls with such an education that they become capable of facing every situation in a family and become a blessing to their family.” — Saint Claudine Thévenet
Therefore, keeping these objectives in mind, we make every possible effort to develop a sense of responsibility in every student and to develop them into aware and responsible citizens.
